Overview

Diakēo Gíhm was founded durring the early 13th century in summer of the year 1227, by Philip. The establishment of Diakēo Gíhm was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Philip struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Diakēo Gíhm as a prison colony.

Diakēo Gíhm was built using the conventions of Tauran durring the early 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Diakēo Gíhm is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Diakēo Gíhm is buildings are speckled and packed arround crampt packed earth streets with seemingly no patern to them. It appears as if the city's residents simply built streets as they pleased and squeazed buildings in wherever and howeave rpossible, creating an organic, frustrating to navigate, maze of a city. The city rests behind a set of well fortified walls, with gatehouses, watch towers, and battlments. Diakēo Gíhm's walls are, howeaver, fashioned from stone and timber. While unorthadox, the design looks to be functional to a reasonable degree. With luck, the untested design will remain untested for years to come. The unusual yet seemingly effective fortifications have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

A look around Diakēo Gíhm gives you an uneasy feeling. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring jsut long enough for it to be uncomfortable. Beneath this surface, the people of Diakēo Gíhm can be overheard having academic discussions, as well as talking about scholarly subjects in general. It’s quite clear Diakēo Gíhm places a lot of value on education and being a learned individual.
